Christmas Lights in a Carriage

This afternoon, Megan, Andy, and I brought our spouses and families to meet my parents for a horse carriage ride. We all were bundled up and rode through a park filled with lights. The kids enjoyed singing Christmas carols. Here are my parents with all of their grandchildren. What a crew!

Outer Banks, North Carolina 2012

We ventured the first week in August to OBX with another family...We arrived in Duck, North Carolina and had a splendid week. Wonderful memories were made to last a lifetime!

The kids posed in front of a wild horse. We drove in hopes of seeing wild hores, but were surprised to learn we had to drive Nathan's new truck through sand many miles to see them... we decided against the idea. The kids were ok with ice cream instead from a local ice cream shop!

When we got home, the kids had a present for Max. Look at those tan bodies!

The family on the beach one afternoon/evening looking for shells. I love the ocean and moon in the background!

Thanks to Andy, Serena, Hayden, Cadence, and Corbin for taking the family vacation with us. It was such a memorable week!

Some highlights were:
-Me driving Nathan to the local hospital at 6:30AM on a dreary rainy morning
-the girls spending the afternoon when we got back shopping
-eating crabs on our last night in Duck
-hanging out at the beach in the mornings
-wedgie girl
-seeing dolphins (or sharks)...our vision was never confirmed
-lounging every day at our pool
-playing board games together
-hunting crabs with glowsticks and flashlights on the beach
-building sand castles
-watching the kids boogie board
-watching Nathan chase crabs on the beach during the day with a sand bucket
-walks on the beach

Happy 10th Birthday, Gavin!

Today we had our families over for lunch for Gavin's birthday. It is amazing to think 10 years ago we were in the hospital with our first born little boy. Now he is wearing shoes the same size as his mother...honestly!

Aubrey and Whittney pretending to be sleeping...

Gavin opened Wits and Wagers from Uncle Andy and Aunt Holly. He found the card comical and called the game Wits and Waggers...we had a quick phonics lesson before continuing the gift opening. :~)

 Trying on a new jacket...

A snazzy new outfit from Grandma Great!

Gavin found a brick from Grandma and Grandma Suzie in their gift bag...it was for Gavin to put on his head so he wouldn't grow any more. What silly grandmas we have!

 Loving Buster...

Peeking around Buster...

 Aubrey and Buster...

Blowing out the candles...notice they are trying to relight. We found tricky candles.

The crew at the party...

Whittney made Gavin's cake...yum!

Whittney's Creations

The girls and I have been hooked on both "Chopped" and "Cupcake Wars." After spending time in her new cupcake cookbook, Whitney picked out a fun cupcake to make...ties and hats. She made ties for all the boys in her class and hats for all the girls.

A close-up! Just some Airheads and fruit roll ups...

Fruit roll ups and fruit gummies.

Whittney did an amazing job on her cupcakes. She was proud to share her creations with her friends at school.

Lounging Buster

This afternoon the girls brought Buster into the house for a visit. After the girls sat and watching him hop around, they got busy with playing and left Buster. I caught him lounging on the rug...hanging out. He was looking rather comfortable.

Happy Birthday, Brooke!

Today Whittney joined her friend, Brooke, and many of Brooke's friends at the gymnastics center. The girls played on the equipment, ate sandwiches and cupcakes...then it was time to play more.

The girls built a fort in the middle of the gymnastics floor. HOW FUN!

Whittney is running and jumping into the pit...filled with foam blocks and girls!

Some of the moms even got pushed into the pit...Here is Serena (Cadence's mom).

Yes....even I got pushed in. Thanks girls.

Brooke's little brother, Samuel, is having fun in the pit!

Brooke opening her presents!

Love the sunglasses while opening presents!

Time for the parachute!

Olivia and Brooke being silly...they made the parachute look like their pants! Funny girls!

Science Fair Winners

Whittney at the awards program...She was awarded first in her grade and first place overall all in grades K, 1, and 2. Congratulations Whittney!

Science Fair

Today was the elementary science fair. Once again, Whittney selected to do a project (even though she wasn't required). Gavin was required to do a project as part of his science grade. Gavin looks happy in this picture, even though he was not thrilled about the project. At the awards program, it was announced that Whittney was selected as a regional science fair winner.

Basketball

Gavin and Whittney have had basketball practice for a few hours on Saturday mornings. This morning, Gavin had a game against a team from another school. At the end of the game, I caught him in the air... This proved Gavin can jump! :~)

During Gavin's next game today, Aleigha found a spot to watch among the guys at the game...a couple of dads and the varsity basketball coach.

Buster's First Photo Shoot

As you can tell, Buster is loved! He lives outside in the rabbit hutch, but visits occasionally. He stays on the rug under the kitchen table because he does not like hard wood floors...Buster and Max have not met.

The New Rabbit

If you haven't heard, the girls had been having a hard time sleeping all night in their own beds. Nathan told them if they stayed in their beds "lots of days" he would get them a rabbit. When the girls asked how many days, Nathan told them they each had to stay in their own beds for 30 days before they could get a rabbit. Well...the day has arrived. Whittney and Aleigha stayed in their beds for 30 days! Meet Buster Oink. His middle name was Aubrey's idea. She wanted to name the rabbit Oink, but the kids didn't think they could use that as the first name. They thought it made an excellent middle name. The picture is of Aleigha holding Buster on the way home from picking him up!

Olivia, Evelyn, and Preston Visiting Again...

Preston looking happy to be visiting Uncle Nathan, Aunt Alecia, and his cousins! :~)

Gavin tired after practicing baseball.

Aleigha is telling Evelyn all about the rabbit hutch...

Gavin is giving the girls a more detailed overview of the hutch.
