This morning Nathan and I dropped Gavin and Aleigha off with Grandma Suzie and we headed to the hospital with Whittney. She was having her tonsils and adenoids removed. We arrived at 9:30AM and waited patiently for Whittney's turn. At 11:30AM, a nurse walked her back to the operating room. Thankfully Whittney has a wonderful big brother that told her all about what to expect (in a good way) and she was prepared. The doctor told us after the surgery how impressed he was Whittney wasn't afraid, but rather brave.
In this picture, she was waiting for her turn!
After about 30 minutes, we were called back to the recovery room with her. She was a little groggy and her throat hurt. She had a small headache, but the nurse gave her more pain medicine and she slept for about an hour. After ice chips, a little water, and a few licks of Popsicle, we were ready to head for home. She slept on the way home and most of today.
When Gavin and Aleigha arrived home from Grandma Suzie's, they came with a get well basket, jello jigglers, and pudding cups. Grandma Suzie had taken them shopping and picked out things Whittney can use while recovering...a movie, Leapster game, kleenex, lip gloss, chapstick, beads to make jewelry, Junie B. Jones books, and a necklace. While shopping, it sounds like Gavin and Aleigha also picked out a present for themselves...then they made jello and pudding for Whittney.
THANKS GRANDMA SUZIE!
