It snowed last night and looked rather beautiful today...

After school today, the kids were anxious to go sledding! It was great weather for it.

The Deer Slayer...2

Today Gavin shot his first buck!!!! You will have to get the story from him because it is priceless! It begins with Nathan spotting two bucks in the back field and ends with a dropped buck at 106 yards.

Our Deer Slayer

Today while Nathan was looking out the back window, he spotted two small bucks in the field. Gavin and Nathan got dressed and headed out to the woods. The story ends with Gavin shooting a buck 106 yards away with Nathan's Encore muzzle loader...and the buck dropping. The girls were anxious to help Nathan and Gavin pick it up on the four wheeler after supper.

Christmas Celebration with Grandpa Pat's Family

The morning started off with more swimming...as to be expected when staying at a hotel!

The Saturday after Thanksgiving is the day we celebrate Christmas with Grandma Great and all of Grandpa Pat's family. Preston was dressed in one of his sweaters and ready for some fun!

Olivia and Whittney were standing on the other side of the building...I was trying out my camera for a long shot. Although it is rather dark, the picture was surprisingly good.

Unfortunately, I didn't' feel well all day. Although we were several hours from home, we didn't stay long visiting before leaving. I felt bad because the kids enjoy playing with their cousins on this side of the family. We look forward to seeing this group again...when I feel better and we can stay longer.

After supper with Uncle Andy, Aunt Holly, and Aubrey, it was another round in the pool...Aleigha is ready to the pool... gotta love those boots.

The New Camera

While the kids and I were swimming, Nathan made a trip to a local store. He went with a list of items (mostly food items for our hotel stay). When he returned, he had a new camera for me. Of course, I tried it out right away!

Ready for the Pool!

We stopped on our way to the hotel to visit with Grandma Great. It was lunch time, so we went out to eat with her! Not long after we returned to her house, Uncle Tom, Aunt Megan, and the girls arrived to visit Grandma Great. It was perfect timing...time for us to head to the hotel. Once inside our room, the kids were ready to change into their swimsuits and hit the pool! They were styling!

This morning we were nearly all packed, ready to leave for Ohio when Nathan got a phone call from his brother. Uncle Jasen shot a buck at Grandma Till's. We had to stop so dad could help get the deer out of the woods.

Whittney's Writing

During school today, Whittney decided to write the following story...

This coming up Friday I'm going to Worster, Ohio! We will stay in a hotel! I am rilly exited! I can all ready smell the chlorine in the pool and the clean smell of the room! I can't wait to bounce on the bouncey beds! We are going to the hotel because of the Christmas party! I just can't wait!

She enjoys writing...and even received the writing award from her class. Only one student received the award for the first nine weeks. We are very proud of her writing ability and her love of writing both fiction and nonfiction stories!

The Deer Slayer

Nathan had been going out hunting when he was able (due to my schedule). He was dedicated and continued to hunt day after day. On one of the afternoons I got home later than desired, he went out behind the house for another try...well...it was the day!

Today Olivia had a gymnastics meet, so Grandma Suzie watched Evelyn and Preston. Grandpa Pat and Grandpa Suzie came to Gavin's last soccer game.
