Too Much "Chopped"

Lately, the girls and I have enjoyed watching the television show "Chopped." If you are not familiar, it is a competitive cooking show with chefs from around the United States. They are timed and given specific ingredients to use for each dish. If the judges do not feel they did the best in creativity, taste, and/or presentation, they are chopped.

For lunch today, Whittney created the plates....maybe we have watched "Chopped" a little too much...

Roller Skating

Today we ate breakfast on my bed while watching Alvin and the Chipmunks. After breakfast, we played. Once we were done with lunch, we were ready to get out of the house and do something...we couldn't think of anything better to do than roller skate!!

Kelsey joined us with her friend Stephanie and Stephanie's little sister Naomi. Here are Kelsey and Aleigha...having fun.

Still skating...

Gavin zooming by on his new roller skates from Grandpa and Grandma. I don't have a picture of Whittney, but she was skating too...with her new roller skates!

At the end of the open skate time, Kelsey and Whittney were skating. Aleigha was going by herself (with a little support from Gavin). It was short lived and Gavin skated off...leaving Aleigha alone. She was good until she fell and hurt her hand. Jenny (Nathan's cousin, Tad's wife) happened to be skating so she held Aleigha's hand and brought her back to safety.

WHAT A FUN TIME ROLLER SKATING! Thanks to Kelsey for joining us.

Toboganning With Friends and Family

We met four other families for tobogganing this evening. There were a total of 14 children and 9 adults in our group hitting the toboggan hill! (That's a lot of people!)

Cadence, Whittney (in the back), and Avery carrying their sled!

After sledding down the hill, Uncle Tom and dad were waiting at the bottom to carry everyone up to the top for another ride! What a truckload...

These three boys were not in the back of the truck. They decided to ride in the Yukon this time... Joel, Gavin, and Hayden.

The crew...minus Evelyn (she was taking a sled back with Uncle Tom)...Corbin, Aleigha, Niles in the front row. Macy, Olivia, Avery, Whittney, and Cadence in the middle row. Hayden, Gavin, Maddie, Joel, and Dylan in the back row....WHAT A CREW!

Corbin was over the photo shoot... then there were 12.

After tobogganing, we went to Pizza King for supper. It only took 5 tables, 5 orders of breadsticks, 4 pizzas, 17 glasses of water 2 glasses of Coke, and 2 pitchers of beer.

What amazing memories we will all cherish from this fun evening together!

Cousins Over

Today Olivia, Evelyn, and Preston came over for a few hours. Camren was also here playing for the day. The kids had so much fun playing together. Everyone had a play buddy...Gavin and Camren, Whittney and Olivia, Aleigha and Evelyn, me and Preston. It was a fun afternoon!

Playing in the Snow...

Gavin is trying out his new snowboard! It fits nicely!

He made it down the hill without falling!

Whittney on her first ride down the hill.

Aleigha striking a pose before her ride down.

Cheese...

What a fun time with the snowboard.

Splits in the snow...

Max is too excited when the kids are out playing in the snow...

Update From the Surgeon

Today the kids and I went to Gavin's doctor's appointment with his pediatric surgeon. It was our normal six month checkup. Everything is going well, but Gavin's cecostomy tube in leaking more than desired. Gavin talked about it with the doctor today. The doctor is going to replace Gavin's tube with a little smaller tube, which should help with this problem.

The exciting new is...

with the tubes used in the past, Gavin is required to have this procedure done in the operating room while unconscience. In January, this should be the last time we will have to enter an operating room for his cecostomy! YIPPEE! The doctor will insert a different tube, which will now be changed in the doctor's office or even at home. We look forward to this new tube and hope it works well for Gavin.

After our appointment today, the kids and I went to see Chipwrecked with Alvin and the Chipmunks.

One Last Gift

After spending the morning with Grandpa and Grandma, we came home to relax. This afternoon Grandpa and Grandma stopped by to deliver one last gift...a swimming pool for our house! Aleigha was sure it was warm enough we should set it up today and she could try it out!

Our Last Celebration

This morning we had our last Christmas celebration at Grandpa and Grandma's with Uncle Jasen and his family. Max came along...and needed to be front and center.

The kids had a fun time opening gifts and playing together after breakfast. What an amazing Christmas we had this year.

Christmas with Grandma's Family

This afternoon, we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma's house again for Christmas with Grandma's family. We had lunch and then the kids played...while the big girls and Whittney played Clue.

Dalen was sure Grandpa needed to take him for a ride on the four wheeler. When Grandpa told him it was broken, he said, "Fix it." When Grandpa said it was out of gas, Dalen said, "Go get some more!" He was ready for a ride and he wasn't taking no for an answer.

All ready to go...

Ashley, Nancy, Megan, Whittney, Kelsey, and Diane playing Clue...Diane was just watching... Surprisingly, the Clue game went on for hours and hours and hours.

Painting...

Aleigha trying out the new paint supplies...

Christmas Breakfast

Our Christmas breakfast...just like the picture on the recipe.

Christmas Morning

We expected the kids to be up around 6:30AM or 7:00AM anxious to open presents. Surprisingly, they didn't wake up until 8AM! They immediately called both sets of grandparents and went downstairs to look in their stockings.

Aleigha scoping out the goods...

Gavin has looked at all his stocking gifts, and is now helping Max with his Angry Bird toy he found in his stocking. It even squeaks!

Gavin's new snowboard! Now we just have to wait for some snow...

Aleigha with a new Barbie...complete with three puppies that swim.

Whittney with her new guitar! She is also wearing a new pair of pajama pants she just opened.

Aleigha opening her new microphone! This was after tears from not getting a guitar after Whittney opened hers. Gotta love girl drama...

Gavin excited about his UnderArmor shirts...okay, maybe not so excited...

Miss Diva trying on her new headband...

Showing off her new earring holder... Whittney opened a star earring holder too.

Gavin was the most excited with the Guitar Hero for the family! Now we could have our own band...too bad we don't have a voice good enough for our lead singer position...

Hoping she will be allowed to eat the whole chocolate candy cane...and not have to share it.

It was enjoyable to have our parents join us again to watch the kids open their presents. What a delightful morning.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Letter to Santa

Whittney wrote a letter to Santa and left it next to his milk and giant cookie.

Santa left Whittney a note back...

Getting Ready for Santa

After our Christmas festivities this evening, the girls were ready to sprinkle the reindeer food on the ground for Santa to see...complete with glitter.

They made sure to spread the food ALL over the yard...so Santa could see the glitter and be sure to stop.

Job completed... All ready for bed.

More Christmas Celebration

Our last stop of the night was at Grandpa and Grandma's house...with Grandpa's family.

Maelei was anxious to see Aleigha.

CHEESE~

Dalen having a snack.

Playing around so he could get his picture taken.

It was fun to get together with all of our family today. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Number 2

After opening gifts and spending the day with family, we went to Aunt Jo's house for Christmas with Grandma Great and her family. Preston seemed happy to have Aleigha hold him...

We ate supper and opened gifts. What a fun time we had!

Christmas with Grandpa Pat and Grandma Suzie

We started our Christmas celebrations with Grandpa Pat, Grandma Suzie, Grandma Great, Aunt Jo, Taylor, and all my siblings, nieces, and nephews this morning. Kaye stopped by with her family too. We had breakfast and then waited for a special visitor.

The kids having fun! Enrich, Olivia, Whittney, Gavin, Aleigha, and Taylor...

Enrich was the first to sit on Santa's lap...with the help of Mrs. Claus (our special visitors)!!

Olivia and Whittney had their turn on Santa's lap. Here they are...deep in discussion.

Although Aleigha was quick to get on Santa's lap, she looks rather learly of the big jolly guy.

Even Aubrey had a turn with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The whole crew (minus Preston, who was napping)...complete with Evelyn in the bottom right corner. They were all rather impressed with the special visitors.

After all the kids sat on Santa's lap, he had a special gift for Grandma Suzie...He made her sit on his lap to open it...it was a gift from Grandpa Pat.

Aleigha was excited with her gift from Uncle Tom and Aunt Megan...a towel wrap and soap sponge.

Uncle Andy and Aunt Holly gave this to the girls. It fits on a card table...this tent is awesome!!!...and Aunt Holly made it!

Grandpa Pat and Grandma Suzie gave Whittney these text messagers...and the matching Justice sweatsuits...the girls were sitting on the couch sending messages to each other.

Target practice in the backyard... Uncle Grant is up.

Uncle Andy's turn...they are aiming for the targets on the edge of the woods.

My turn shooting Nathan's new turkey barrel for his gun...my target was much closer than the edge of the field. Nathan is confident I should take up turkey hunting...we will see.

Uncle Tom's turn next... Grandpa Pat and Aunt Megan also had a turn, but I was inside and missed the photo opportunities. I think everyone had a fun time!

And our first Christmas was fabulous!
