Happy Birthday Whittney!
Today after school, Whittney had her friend's birthday party. We brought Brooke, picked up Mataya on the way, and met Uncle Tom, Aunt Megan, their girls, Thane, Avery, and Joel to go tobogganing! Here is part of the crew waiting in line for their first trip down the hill! Olivia, Mataya, Brooke, Whittney, and Gavin...Grandpa Pat, Grandma Suzie, Tom, Kaye, Lenny, Joanne, Grandpa, and Grandma came to watch!
After two trips down the toboggan, the kids were ready for supper. We all went to Pizza King for supper and then headed home. Mataya, Brooke, and Avery came home with us. Three of them fell asleep on the way home. Avery surprisingly stayed awake. (Gavin stayed the night with Joel. Aleigha stayed with Grandpa and Grandma.)
Once we got home, the girls were WIDE awake! Whittney opened her presents and then the girls played.
First it was a wedding...Whittney was the bride, Mataya, Avery, and Brooke were bridesmaids.Saturday, January 22, 2011
Happy Birthday, Olivia and Whittney!
Aunt Megan and Mom made this cake for Olivia and Whittney's family birthday party. It was a Hawaiian theme and Aunt Megan saw this cake in a magazine.
Aleigha, Aubrey, Evelyn, and Olivia are getting ready for a great party.
After eating and playing, the two girls sat and opened their presents together.
Showing off their gifts from Grandma Great!
Opening gifts from Grandpa and Grandma!
Uncle Andy and Aunt Holly gave the girls peace sign purses. The girls loved them.
Gifts from Grandpa Pat and Grandma Suzie...
Uncle Grant dressed up for the Hawaiian party too! The kids had asked if he would wear a coconut bra and grass skirt. How could he resist...Happy Birthday Olivia!
This afternoon Olivia celebrated her birthday with her friends. Aunt Megan made these cookies. They were delicious!
Once the guests arrived, the girls made Hawaiian bracelets.
Here are the girls...hard at work!
One of the games was a relay race. There were two teams. Each girl had to put on the Hawaiian outfit (grass skirt, lei, and sunglasses). Then they took it off and the next girl in line had to put it on.
Another game was "Pass the Coconut." Aunt Megan played music while the girls passed the coconut. When the music stopped, the girl holding the coconut was out. They played this game twice because they had so much fun! After this game, the girls limboed. Next, the girls went in the basement and watched "How to Be a Hula Girl" video. Then it was time for frozen Hawaiian drinks, snacks, and flip flop cookies.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OLIVIA!

Building a Snowman and Ice Fishing
This afternoon Dad, Uncle Jasen, and a man Dad works with (Mark) went ice fishing. After we were bundled up, we packed the sled and drove to Grandma Great's house.
While the guys were ice fishing, Aleigha tried out her new ice skates. The snow on the ice was wet, wet, wet so the ice skating didn't work so well. Gavin started to make a snowball, which led to the snowman. Once we started making it, we thought we could walk across the pond and make the snowman so Grandma Great could see it on the ice from her house. (She is recovering from a double bypass and valve replacement surgery). Gavin is pulling Aleigha and the bottom of the snowman to it's new destination.
Whittney stole Dad's ice scooper to get the wet snow for our snowman. Instead of rolling it, we had to scoop it up and put it on the snowman.SNOW DAY!
